Rug Care Guide

A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Hand-knotted, fine and antique rugs are remarkably durable, but they do best with gentle, thoughtful care. Follow these simple tips to protect your rug and keep it looking it's best for generations to come.

Regular Vacuuming

Use a suction-only vacuum (avoid beater bars) to remove dust, dirt, and pet hair. It's as easy as that.

Spot Cleaning

Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing. Use a mild, pH neutral detergent and cold water for stubborn spots. And remember, accidents happen and rugs are meant to be lived on.

Profession Cleaning

For deep cleaning, I recommend a professional rug cleaner experienced with hand-knotted wool and older pieces. This can be done every few years.
